Description of Duties

The Killington Conference Sales Team has an opening for a proactive Conference Sales Representative who is a self-starter, team player and highly motivated.  Responsibilities include responding to all inquiries for information regarding conference/meeting facilities and services, lodging, rates, schedules, terms and conditions, special events and the resort and local area in general.  Solicit, qualify, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts such as telemarketing, e-mail, participating in trade shows and industry related events. Negotiate room rates, dates and space for large groups/accounts.  Prepares proposals and contracts.  Conduct site tours of the facilities to prospective customers.  Confer regularly with immediate supervisor, marketing staff and appropriate company personnel to plan, coordinate and evaluate programs/policies/procedures, exchange information and resolve problems.  Respond to customer issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.  Develop a marketing strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market trends.  Create selling strategies to capture the maximum revenue to meet/exceed sales goals.  Maintain/update records on all prospecting, leads, and client accounts.  Preparing reports as directed.  Perform other assigned tasks. Qualified candidates must have three to five years of relevant sales experience with highly developed communication and negotiation skills are required.  A college degree is desirable.  Good speaking, writing and basic math skills.  Knowledge of  Vermont resort hospitality.  Ability to work independently or as a team, self-motivated and able to multi-task.  Relevant group sales experience.  Good general planning, administrative and organizational skills.  Good technical skills in meeting/conference design and organization.  Excellent customer relations skills. Ability to effectively represent the company and negotiate with potential clients in making sales, and the ability to effectively manage the arrangements of conferences and meetings.  Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of company departments/personnel.  Travel is required for sales missions, trade shows and industry related events.  This individual must be driven to achieve assigned goals by expanding the current base of business and achieving new growth within assigned market segments.  Experience with Springer Miller PMS and Delphi preferred.
