Jobing Description

* Reports to Director of Quality & Information Systems * Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of injection molded and/or manufactured products in accordance with customer specifications * Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams and formulas; confers with appropriate staff to determine quality and reliability standards * Tests products at specified stages in production process for various quality criteria, including dimensions, performance, and mechanical/electrical/chemical characteristics * Writes quality program documentation, including quality plans, incoming inspection instructions, dimensional/visual quality requirements (DVQR) and new product inspection techniques * Assists Purchasing Department with maintaining appropriate vendor quality * Communicates with internal and external customers verbally and in writing regarding quality standards and specifications * Serves as liaison between internal Mack departments and customers * Identifies quality-related customer issues and develops corrective action plans * Coordinates or performs dimensional analyses, initial inspections, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, SPC-SQC data analyses, etc. * Functions as resource for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 13485 and QSR program requirements. Qualifications Candidate should have: * Bachelor's degree in a technical field * Two or more years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with a medical device manufacturer in a lean manufacturing environment * Working knowledge of SPC-SQC data analysis, quality systems regulations, and statistical techniques and sampling plans * Ability to read and interpret blueprints * Excellent verbal/written communication skills * Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry * Strong computer literacy with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, project management and manufacturing software. The ideal candidate would be certified as an ASQ Quality Engineer with experience in lean manufacturing principles, quality training, customer/vendor management, ISO program implementation, and quality planning and budgeting.
