Job Description:
Provides security, parking control or other related assignments at events at Middlebury College or at the Bread Loaf campus.
Responsibilities
*
Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
*
Promotes positive community service and relations with the entire campus community and guests of the college.
*
Must be dependable, responsible and able to exercise good judgment in dealing with the public.
*
Must be able to work as a member of a team or independently depending on the assignment.
*
Provides parking control and direction in parking lots for events such as football games, hockey games, commencement and other large events.
*
Provides site security for indoor events such as concerts, parties or dances.
*
Provides building site security.
*
Monitors crowd situations to ensure that laws and college rules are followed.
*
Monitors events to ensure that the space does not exceed capacity.
*
Assists Museum Monitors with duties in the art gallery.
Job Qualifications:
Education and Training
High school diploma preferred. First Aid Training is desirable.
Experience
Prior experience in security, parking control or the military is desirable.
Knowledge
Knowledge of the Middlebury College campus and college rules desirable.
Other
Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Vermont Driver's License. Most of the assignments are short term in nature and there are no mandatory assignments. SES employees work on an on-call, part-time basis. Must be able to stand long hours and work outside in all weather.
