Statement of Purpose:
Under the direction of Controller, the Financial Analyst develops, maintains, interprets and distributes periodic financial reports for management to monitor business performance and evaluate business trends. In addition, this position also oversees billing and estimating functions in the organization and supervises a group of 3-5 employees.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Report and analyze financial data across a wide variety of business areas to include sales, job cost, product cost, labor, other areas of cost and expense, pricing, and marketing.
2. Work with internal and external constituents to provide timely and accurate measurement and analysis to support efforts to maximize performance.
3. Support planning and forecasting functions by developing and maintaining such systems as required. Monitor and report actual results against projections.
4. Maintain job costing and product costing systems; verify completeness and accuracy of data, identify and address weaknesses, and maintain and update standard cost rates.
5. Provide ad hoc analysis as directed. Support the accounting department by improving and maintaining monthly schedules. Take on various analytical projects in either a lead or supporting role as directed.
6. Supervise billing and estimating functions in the organization.
7. Some travel is required (5% to 10% possible).
8. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor s in business, management, finance or related field.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. Crystal Report writing skills helpful.
* 5+ years in a similar position.
* Proven experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing statistical data.
* Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage to successful and timely outcomes.
* Proven ability to plan, communicate and establish positive working relationships across the organization.
* Proven ability to assess situation or business needs, determine what information/potential actions are necessary and proceed accordingly to successful problem resolution.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
* Experience working with SQL databases and Microsoft Query helpful.
* Publishing services or printing industry experience helpful.
* Advanced degree helpful.
