Job Description:
Manages the leadership gifts program, seeking gifts for College priorities of $100,000 and above. Develop solicitation priorities for the leadership gifts team and significantly collaborate with principal gifts team on presidential and senior vice presidential prospective donor contacts. Serves as prospect manager for a prescribed donor pool. Coordinate with other College Advancement professionals to sustain and increase overall fund raising effectiveness in order to achieve established institutional financial goals. Manage high level fund raising volunteers, including trustees, in support of fund raising efforts and goals.
Responsibilities:

Supervise leadership gifts team, including recruiting, training, evaluating, and mentoring; serve as mentor and leader for the overall leadership gifts program.

Serve as senior member of College Advancement division administration.
*
Work with the associate vice president for development/campaign director, vice president of College Advancement, senior vice president and chief philanthropic advisor, and leadership gifts fund raisers to develop solicitation priorities and develop strategies for leadership gifts level prospects involving fund raising leaders including the president, other college leadership as directed.

Manage the fund raising work of high level volunteers, including trustees, and have direct contact, in coordination with CA/campaign leadership (Leadership Gifts Committee).

Participate in the related communications process between the entities above by collaborating with the College Advancement directors group and the associate vice president for development/campaign director.

Develop a plan for the leadership gifts program in conjunction with annual development operating plans, including developing fiscal year goals, with regular monitoring of progress.

Work with the vice president for college advancement and the associate vice presidents to ensure that the leadership gifts team knows College fund raising priorities; work with the director of College Advancement communications to assure that the leadership gifts team has the necessary tools to promote these priorities with prospective donors.

Collaborate with the director of donor relations and donor relations staff in assuring that stewardship plans as well as cultivation plans as affected by donor relations efforts are in place for leadership gifts prospects.

Help to ensure timely follow-up for all donor visits and activity of fund raisers and lead fund raising volunteers including trustees. Work with fund raising and research staff to identify new leadership gift prospects and update capacity assessments for previously identified prospective donors.

As the lead prospect manager for the $100,000 - $1MM rated prospect pool, oversee the development and execution of cultivation and solicitation strategies for each leadership gifts level prospect, ensuring regular and systematic contact by the appropriate college representatives and entities.

Motivate and support leadership gifts volunteers for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship contacts, including visits.
*
Oversee preparation of contact notes, strategies and necessary follow-up materials, including proposals for these prospects.
*
Accompany fund raising leaders on visits when appropriate.
*
Maintain an appropriate size pool of leadership level prospects.
Job Qualifications:
Education & Training
Bachelor s degree required.
Experience
Seven to ten years of progressively responsible development experience in higher education. A demonstrable track record of fund raising accomplishments essential and experience in closing gifts critical.

Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to translate internal information to an external audience. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively and successfully with colleagues, prospects/donors, faculty, administrators, and volunteers to achieve common goals. Ability to work independently. Must be a facilitator with excellent management skills and be results-oriented.Comfortable working in a dynamic environment; adaptable to change. Confident, professional, energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and absolutely ethical. Must be able to deal with a diverse population and handle confidential materials with discretion. Proven ability to motivate and lead staff and volunteers. Strong administrative and organization skills. Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
