BASIC FUNCTION:

The Banquet Bartender serves beverages in a professional manner to the guests at banquet events according to Stowe Mountain Lodge standards. Also, provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sets up banquet bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies; inventory unused liquor and beverages.
2. Performs pre and post-shift side work (set-up cart, empty ice-bins, securing liquor, etc.).
3. Prepares and serves beverages in a prompt and professional manner in accordance with established standards and responsible alcohol service.
4. Greets guests pleasantly as they approach the banquet bar.
5. Promotes house drinks and utilizes up-selling skills when applicable to maximize sales.
6. Adheres to established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent product to the guests and to control costs.
7. Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.
8. Monitors guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notifies management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers.
9. Checks identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
10. Ensures the security and proper storage of liquor and beverage items.
11. Receives cash from guests, makes change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
12. Replenishes supplies in a timely and efficient manner, and minimizes waste and misuse of liquor.
13. Completes paperwork such as consumption reports, incident reports, etc. according to specified procedures.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
15. Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
16. Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Resort policies.
17. Creates cost saving controls, ensures economical and safe use of supplies and equipment.
18. Upholds all safety standards of Stowe Mountain Lodge and Destination Hotels and Resorts.
19. Is able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
20. Is able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
21. Is able to stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day.
22. Is a team player and interacts with all guests and fellow Associates in a positive and friendly manner.

Position Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE:

? High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
? Bartender experience required.
? Pleasant and attentive personality.
? Mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
? Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
? Writing skills for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers.
? Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
? Attention to detail.
? Customer service experience.
