The University of Vermont College of Medicine and its teaching hospital, Fletcher Allen Health Care, are seeking a Medical Oncologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level on the Clinical Scholar Pathway to develop and conduct high quality clinical trials related to GI, GU malignancies, and phase I protocols with an emphasis on new therapeutics and translational research. The Division of Hematology/Oncology is part of the Vermont Cancer Center. At the Vermont Cancer Center, clinicians, scientists, epidemiologists, and ancillary medical professionals all work together to improve cancer care delivery through the integration of basic, clinical and population research. The successful candidate will be a skilled clinician, an accomplished interdisciplinary teacher, and have experience in the conduct of clinical and/or translational research. The applicant will be successful in leading the field of hematology malignancy to the cutting edge of clinical and translational research and offer optimal and newer care to our patient population. For the interested and qualified candidate, the opportunity to build a translational oncology program exists. The Vermont Cancer Center participates in investigator-initiated, NCI-Cooperative Group, and industry-sponsored trials. Opportunities to collaborate with state-of-the-art laboratory researchers, integrating clinical research with the programs of the Vermont Cancer Center, and involving community outreach participants through multidisciplinary efforts are available.

Applicant must be ABIM board eligible or certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology, be eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont, and have demonstrated experience and enthusiasm in clinical research.
