Description Job Description Title: Activities Specialist Reports To: Supervisor varies based upon store volume Summary The Specialist has a unique talent and is dedicated to a specific function. While it is the main role of the Specialist to focus on providing Quality Customer Care within his/her department, flexibility is key in this position. Specialists may work in multiple areas of the store during each shift. Additionally, this position answers the phone and assists with cashiering and recovery. The Specialist is a primary source of contact for our customers. This position impacts our customers since the Specialist answers questions and provides Quality Customer Care to the people who shop with us. The Specialist impacts the company by satisfying our customers who then buy our products and shop with us, again, in the future. The Activities Specialist is responsible for the success of A.C. Moore s Classroom Program. As an Activities Specialist you are responsible for teaching classes and driving revenue through increasing class enrollment. This position connects with the community and creates an environment of creative instruction and learning in the store. The Activities Specialist is also responsible for driving correspondence with our customers through the collection of email addresses. Essential Job Functions * Adopt and Execute our Values of: People, Integrity, Desire to Be the Best, Passion, Enthusiasm, and New Ideas. * Demonstrate flexibility in schedule to support the store s Classroom Program. * Provide Quality Customer Care to all customers by handling customer concerns quickly and sincerely, ringing up purchases with speed and accuracy, and by recovering the store consistently to ensure a positive shopping experience. * Drive sales by providing solutions to customers crafting needs through class instruction and promoting key products. * Use product knowledge to suggest and up-sell merchandise to customers. * Drive participant enrollment for classes and generate repeat customers. * Maintain enrollment levels month over month. * Develop and participate in community outreach efforts of the store. * Prepare classroom with adequate supply of product and other materials/tools. * Ensure that classroom meets cleanliness standards at the conclusion of the class. * Coordinate the schedules for classes and special events. * Create a monthly class schedule and submit it to corporate electronically for posting on the company website. * Collect customer email addresses and other pertinent contact information. * Create and post storyboards (e.g., samples) within the store, as directed by the GM. * Perform other duties as requested. Experience & Educational Requirements * Ability to drive sales through Classroom Program. * Must be Wilton certified to instruct a Wilton class. * Flexibility in scheduling; evenings and weekends may be required. 1863addCart ACMOORE 1
